How to be Productive Everyday

  1. Early to bed, Early to rising

As much as this sounds like a cliche, it is one of the easiest ways to prepare your body for the task ahead of the following day. You should know that it’s not just about sleeping early just once, it’s about creating a routine time for sleep, a time to put your body to rest so you can use it the next day. Also if you want to know how to be productive working from home, you still need to follow this rule.

Try to Wake up at the same time every day, exercise, eat breakfast, or just coffee or tea before you begin your day. You can expect your body to work when you do not rest and prepare for the task. It’s not a horse, even horses need rest.

  2. Plan your weeks every Friday

To many people, Friday is the end of the week, but if you want to be productive, I’ll recommend you plan the beginning of another week every Friday. That’s because you’ll have enough time to delegate, schedule meetings, and make necessary adjustments to your schedules instead of dealing with them on Monday. Also, there’s a saying that failure to prepare, is to prepare to fail. To prepare is to plan ahead.

  3. Focus on one thing at a time.

In the words of Warren Buffett, “No matter how great the talent or efforts, some things just take time. You can’t produce a baby in one month by getting nine women pregnant.”

What is he trying to say here, even though multitasking seems like a great idea that will help you do more things at once, it can actually limit your productivity and the quality of work you do.

What you should rather do is channel all your energy and attention into one task at a time. At the end of the day, you’d be able to finish lots of tasks successfully. While you’re getting at this, you should also avoid distractions, reduce the ways you get on your phone during work hours, or the way you visit social media during work hours.

You could also download Flipd, a free app that allows you to lock your phone for a period of time, so you can focus completely on your work or study.

  4. Practice the 80/20 rule

There’s productivity saying that says If you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you’ll never get it done To be more productive in your business you should ensure that you practice the 80/20 rule. You should ensure only 20 percent of what you do each day produces 80 percent of your results.

You should disentangle yourself from the things that eat up a large chunk of your time during work hours. Activities that add little or no advantage to your task should be removed. If you have a lot of work or tasks to run, you can break it into two and remove the 20 percent that’s most important to your overall productivity.

Here are a few business ideas if you are looking for a business to earn side profits

  5. Delegate task

Bruce Lee once said, Absorb what is useful, reject what is useless, add what is specifically your own.”

You should learn not to do everything by yourself, especially as a business owner. To be more productive, you should let go of control and delegate tasks, this helps in smashing more tasks and saves time.

You can also delegate personal chores like dry cleaning, washing your car, or even picking up belongings. You should not have to do everything by yourself. Save your energy and your time.

  6. Make a priority to-do list

The key is not to prioritize what’s on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.” You can make a to-do list and then prioritize the tasks based on importance. It helps you to do the things that add value to your life first. It also helps you tackle the most difficult task too before you get tired. You can check out free apps that could help you make a prioritized to-do list online.

  7. Cut down on unnecessary meetings

As an entrepreneur or someone who works in an organization, there would be a time when you’ll be having lots of meetings to attend. These meetings could hinder you from not focusing on your job. You should do all you can to trim down on meetings that you attend.

You should reduce meetings with no clear objectives, you should avoid unplanned meetings, and you should identify your role in a meeting before attending such.

  8. Balance home and work-life relationships

There’s a quote that says “your network is your net worth”. You cannot build a profitable network if you’re always busy or overworked with your life. No matter how busy your business or job is, you should also make time for families and friends, because these are the ones that would be your support system.

You need to focus on how to balance your personal relationships with your job. Make time for your good friends, and your families, hang out with people, go on date nights, exercise, go on vacation, and travel. Make time to enjoy the money that you work so hard to make.

  9. Take care of yourself

Remember the saying that health is wealth. A healthy body is a productive body. You cannot be productive if your body, soul, and mind are not in perfect condition. Take good care of your body by visiting the doctor for regular checkups, eating healthy foods regularly, and leading a healthy life.

You should also nourish your mind by exercising regularly, practicing yoga, praying before beginning the day, and meditating. You can then feed your soul with good music, reading good and motivating books, and listening to motivating messages.
